Veneered MDF Sheets and Cut to Size
At MDF Direct, we are a leading supplier of MDF products, including MDF veneer sheets. We pride ourselves on offering the best service and materials manufactured to the highest standards.
What is Veneered MDF?
Veneered MDF provides a perfect alternative to solid wood and is used as a wood substitute in a variety of applications. MDF sheets are constructed by bonding wood fibres together using resin. A 0.5mm veneer coating is applied to each side to create veneered MDF sheets. The edges of the MDF sheets are left exposed, or an edging strip is applied with an iron to provide a uniform colour and finish.

Key Features of Veneered MDF Sheets
Affordable
Veneered materials such as oak veneered MDF sheets are available at a more affordable price than solid wood. This makes them an excellent choice when the price is a concern and using wood is not an option. While the cost of MDF core veneer may be lower, it offers a wide range of features making it a perfect alternative to wood.
Sturdy
As well as being a great price, MDF veneer sheets are also very strong. The cross-laminated construction of the MDF core gives the material its strength, while the veneers provide an attractive finish.
Versatile
Veneered MDF sheet is a versatile material suitable for many different purposes. Many people select veneered MDF over standard MDF because you can create a broad range of finishes. As veneered MDF has a grain, it is a perfect alternative to solid wood and offers a decorative option. After sanding veneers, you can create a stained, varnished, or painted finish for the sheet.

What is Veneered MDF Used For?
From doors to furniture to wall panelling, stable MDF core with veneers is used for a wide choice of applications.
Furniture Manufacturing
Furniture for home and commercial use is manufactured using materials such as oak veneered MDF sheets. Office furniture such as desks and meeting tables are produced using this material. In domestic use, veneer panels, such as oak, are often varnished to make dining tables, wardrobes, TV units, and a range of other furniture items.
Decorative Features
As well as being widely used in furniture manufacturing, MDF wood veneer is also used in the production of decorative features for buildings. Items such as fire surrounds, wall panelling, doors, and mouldings can all be made with a veneer finish as a wood alternative.
Cabinets
Hardwood veneer panels are widely used in the production of kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets with doors.
FAQs
Is MDF or veneer better?
Applying veneered sheets to standard MDF core provides many benefits. One distinct advantage is that veneered MDF gives the appearance of solid wood, such as oak. This makes it suitable for a broad range of uses.
What are veneered boards?
Veneered boards can be constructed from veneered plywood or veneered MDF and often used as a similar quality alternative to solid wood. Veneered MDF board is made from bonded wood fibres with a thin veneer sheet applied to the MDF core.
